Principal Lecturer at the Dept of Translation and Linguistics, and Vice-Rector for Language Promotion (2005-2009). Founder and director of UPF Language Centre (1999-2005) and Language Training Program (PEI).
Secondary education teacher (1975-1994), teacher trainer, PhD in bilingual acquisition for Catalan and English. Since then research in English language acquisition, classroom learning, specialized in the age factor and stays abroad, and content-based language learning environments.
Has coordinated four research projects, one European (ALPME), two for Spanish Ministry for Education on the effect of stays abroad, 2004, (SALA), renewed in 2007 and ongoing (COLE), and leader of a recognized research group for the acquisition of languages in Multilingual Catalonia, also ongoing.
