Kristiina Tedremaa-Levorato

Kristiina-Tedremaa-LevoratoKristiina Tedremaa-Levorato has two university degrees: the first Bachelor´s degree from Estonia (Tallinn Pedagogical University: Library studies 1988 – 1993) and another from Sweden (Uppsala University: Swedish 1994 – 1996).
After her studies in Sweden, she entered the Estonian School of Diplomacy and studied International Relations and European Integration in 1996 – 1997 with a plan to commence work at the diplomatic service of the newly independent Estonia. Being certain of her future profession, she entered a Master´s study programme in Uppsala University and defended her Master´s degree there in 1998.

As Kristiina has always been interested in intercultural communication, she has studied translation in parallel to her language studies, in years 1995-1996 at Stockholm University (written translation), and in 2004 – 2007 at Tallinn University (oral translation); she was also awarded a second Master´s degree in oral translation in 2007.

Kristiina has worked in Tallinn University since 1996, in 1996 – 2007 in the Department of Nordic Philology, since 2007 in the TU Language Centre. She is an examiner of the international Swedish exam Swedex (an international certificate of Swedish as a foreign language) in Estonia
